Learn the mechanics of effective partnerships
Today’s global challenges are complex and cut across sectors. Addressing them requires the pooling together of the expertise, resources, competencies and disciplines of a diverse range of actors to produce outcomes that are greater than what any individual actor can achieve on their own. And yet when different actors work together, collaborative projects are often wrought with challenges, such as mismatched objectives, timelines, budgets, disciplinary backgrounds and work cultures.
In this workshop, participants learn:
When and how partnerships can support international policies and programmes to address global challenges
Different models of partnerships/collaborations
The mechanics of what makes an effective and sustainable partnership
Participants will be given case studies and tools to put what they learn into practice. They will also participate in a role play, taking on the profile of different actors to collaboratively design a partnership aimed at addressing a major global challenge.
