At CALP we believe that cash and voucher assistance (CVA) is the best way of supporting people affected by humanitarian crises and boosting local economies in most contexts of crisis. We believe that CVA enables people to overcome crises with dignity, by exercising choice and their right to self-determination.
As a network we convene a diverse variety of individuals, bodies and organizations – all of whom are united in the belief that people should be able to make their own choices in order to overcome humanitarian crises with dignity.
Our network includes our 90+ members: CALP members include local and international non-governmental organizations; United Nations agencies; the Red Cross/Crescent Movement; donors; specialist social innovation; technology and financial services companies; researchers and academics and individual practitioners. Collectively, CALP members deliver the vast majority of humanitarian CVA worldwide.

The Institute for Global Negotiation is a non-profit association based in Zurich whose purpose is to promote and support the use of negotiation as an essential tool in building a more equitable, peaceful, and sustainable world. The association was originally founded in 2014 as the Global Negotiation Conference, an annual event that seeks to advance the theoretical and practical study of negotiation among students across academic disciplines.
The Conference was first held at the University of Bern, followed by ETH Zürich, and since 2020 has been hosted by the Chair of Political Philosophy and the Chair for International Affairs and Political Economy at the University of Zürich. In view of its growing membership and increased activities, the association was reorganised and renamed the Institute for Global Negotiation in February 2021 with an official launch held in March 2022.
Since then, the Institute has continuously expanded its events and projects, bringing together academics and practitioners from across the world. With numerous partnerships with Universities and other organisations, an expanding reach, and the successful implementation of projects, the IGN has established itself as a reputable actor in global negotiation.

Supporting women and girls impacted by conflict and displacement
“The lotus flower is resilient and strong. It grows its roots in muddy water and blossoms into something incredibly beautiful. Our name was chosen to represent the amazing women and girls we work with who move through their struggles and rise up and bloom in some of the world’s harshest environments.” - Taban Shoresh OBE, Founder and CEO
The Lotus Flower was founded in 2016 by former child genocide survivor Taban Shoresh OBE, and has impacted over 84,000 lives to date. In 2014, Taban was horrified to see the ISIS attacks in her homeland, and gave up her successful career in the City to return to Kurdistan Region of Iraq as an aid worker before establishing the Lotus Flower.
We are a locally rooted, globally engaged charity, working with communities in northern Iraq and the UK that have been impacted by conflict and displacement. Our mission is to enable women and girls to build sustainable futures by providing them with the tools, skills, and resources they need to not only survive but thrive. We create environments where they are free from violence, empowered to drive social and economic change within their communities, and equipped to build a future of hope and stability.
We address both the immediate and long-term needs of displaced women and girls living in some of the world’s most challenging environments through the creation of sustainable, community-led solutions.
